  • Fragile City

Yesterday I saw the homeless guy (the one who lives in front of the church & used to own a spiderman blanket) in the supermarket in the new shopping centre (the one with the white floor). He was buying a loaf of white sliced bread, lining up with everyone else & checking the change in…

  • Crossroads

I haven’t seen him for quite some time, & by ‘him’ I mean, of course, the spideylovingBUMwholivesinfrontofthechurchacrosstheroad. Today there was an extensive collection of blankets & sports bags there, fashioned almost to look like two people sleeping under covers. But no, when I ambled a little closer I realised it was just bags. Under blankets.…

  • Words, just words

TWO nights without internet. TWO LONG NIGHTS. LOOOOOOOOONNGG nights. Curiously, I hardly miss it. How freaky. I must be losing my mind (& I’m unlikely to miss _that_ either). I was about to relay some news about the ache in my shoulder, but then I realised: that is dull. strangedave has neglected to add this…

And then I realised, he didn’t _have_ the Gameboy.* In other news, I’m apparently an Angst Writer. Oh, please, bite me (she said, morosely). I’d paste the dooverlacky text in, but…

  • Update #1: The Bum

So someone has given the bum across the road in front of the church a Gameboy. He sat there all morning, pressing Gameboy buttons. I mean, I don’t know if the thing has batteries, but it’s good he has a hobby. Being homeless has got to suck.

  • I apologise in advance for this post

Opposite my building at work, & in front of a church, lives a bum. He likes to sleep late, this bum, & this morning I noticed that beneath the grubbiness & general filth of his blanket is a huge red & black image of Spiderman. I almost wanted that blanket. ‘Cept that would be crazy.…
